We freight weaned babies only! A weaned bird is one who can fill their own crop for a minimum of two weeks and maintain a reasonable weight, prior to going to their new home. We will freight year-round; however, we check for weather conditions at the origin and destination to ensure there are no delays. If delays are possible, shipping will be re-scheduled.
Your bird’s safety is our priority and we will not freight in severe weather conditions such as cold snaps, snowstorms, heat waves, or if ever deemed unsafe to freight by the airlines. We will provide you with all shipping information including departure and arrival times, waybill number, and flight number once all arrangements have been finalized.
Health Guarantee of Our Birds
We have the strongest bird guarantee in the country, and more importantly, we stand behind our guarantee. The guarantee is simple: We guarantee that we are selling you a perfectly healthy bird. To verify that guarantee, within five days you need to go to an Avian Vet and get any and all testing you prefer to do on your bird, at your expense. We can guide you as to the tests we suggest. If the results are not perfect but the bird can be easily treated, then we pay for all medications and all treatment. If the results are unacceptable then we either replace your bird or refund 100% of the purchase price of your bird, at our option.
Airfreight charges vary from one airline to another nationwide. (The distance is not the deciding factor. It is based on the dimensional weight of the freight crate and declared value of the birds). We freight counter to counter. We always notify the buyer of the flight tracking number, airbill number and arrival time after the delivery reservation is made.
We offer shipping Interstate:
We will coordinate flight times with our customer a few days in advance before the bird is being shipped (weather permitting). The customer is supplied with air waybill number, and flight arrival time prior to departure.
How does shipping work?
We take care of the flight/shipping arrangements for all our customers. All a customer has to do is to pick up their baby at their nearest airport with a Valid I.D. Simple and Safe!
Is shipping safe for the birds?
Yes, of course!!! Our pet carriers are well designed to ensure our bird(s) enjoy their flight to their destination. We provide food, water, and soft bedding inside the shipping carriers to make sure the baby is comfortable while traveling. In addition, we train our bird(s) to be in a pet carrier daily for a few mins to ensure they don’t get stressed while traveling during their flight.
What is inside/on top of the shipping carrier?
A weaned bird comes with extra food (Pellets/Seeds mix) inside a ziplock lock bag that will last you a few days. Un-weaned bird comes with a hand-feeding syringe, pellets/seeds that the baby is being weaned on and baby formula that will last you a few days.
Do birds come with a health guarantee?
Yes, all our weaned birds come with a full health guarantee. We provide our customers with 30 days health guarantee to take the bird(s) to an avian veterinarian. If an avian veterinarian states that the bird was Unfit for sale (not healthy), a certificate/paperwork must be presented to our aviary within 24 hours of exam for exchange or full refund of the bird(s).
All our birds (weaned or un-weaned) are DISEASE TESTED negative for Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Borna virus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. We provide paperwork with every bird we sell.
We prefer to freight directly to a major city, eliminating connecting flights if at all possible. This may mean driving a bit further to a large airport, or it may mean picking up in the evening to ensure appropriate shipping temperatures during hot weather seasons. Weekday shipping is preferred over weekends, due to the fact that there are fewer travelers then, and that many cargo terminals close early on the weekends.
Our babies are fully weaned when shipped. They are freighted in airline approved kennels that are darkened to help eliminate stress during the flight. Each kennel will have a perch, juicy fruits, vegetables, and parrot kibble. Often, the baby will be shipped with a favorite soft stuffed animal as a comfort friend. The crate/kennel price will vary with the size of the bird or if you prefer a clean, used crate (if available) to a new one.
